Top NETFLIX Shows to Watch During Quarantine for COVID-19

Hey are you stuck at home in quarantine and not sure what cool shows there are on Netflix to watch? Well that's what we're going to talk about today.

All right, well welcome back to my channel. I'm Jody Cordell, the savvy agent from Spence Properties here in Crestview, Florida, and I, like almost all of you, I'm self-isolating, I'm basically just staying at home and kind of going a little bit stir crazy. So I have been sitting here making some lists of cool shows to watch on different platforms. So I thought I would share some of that with you today. First things first though, you have to have the right equipment with you for Netflix and chill time, right? So the first thing you must have is your adult beverage of choice, and I am sporting my fancy airplane mode glass today, if you can see that, I'm not sure if you can or not. But I got this glass from a Christmas party this past December with my husband's work people. He works with the maintenance group on Hurlburt Field and they were selling these glasses along with a t-shirt that's really cool too that my husband took. So cheers to everyone first of all. Yes, you must have a glass of wine or an adult beverage of your choosing. Oh, and also you must have a healthy supply of chocolate. So this is a whole other subject, but we'll get into that in another video. But just make sure that you have plenty of chocolate snacks and if you like popcorn snacks, those are always a good choice too. So let's get down to it, shall we? Let me just start by giving you a quick rundown of the shows that I am currently watching or have already watched that I highly recommend. First of all, right now we are knee deep in Ozark with Jason Bateman. Jason Bateman is one of my most favorite people ever. I've been in love with him since Silver Spoons. I know that dates me, but it also dates him, so it's all good. So Ozark, I highly recommend getting started with that while you've got the extra time, right? The Good Place, I have not finished it yet. I know that the series just ended, so I really have enjoyed watching The Good Place. I so absolutely love watching Kristen Bell, especially in the very beginning when she starts the, what's the fork thing. What the fork. What the fork. Come on. It's cute and it's adorable. I love her and I like that show. Shit's Creek, oh my goodness, I'm going to be so sad to see them leave. They're coming up on their last season or actually it's already out, but on Netflix you can catch up to all of them if you haven't watched them yet. And of course we're all caught up. We're waiting for the last season to come out and I absolutely love this show and it's hilarious. It's comedy legends. Oh my gosh. And Daniel, Daniel Levy, I'm talking about, Eugene Levy's son. He's really got his own style and I just absolutely love them. Grace and Frankie, I really do like this show. It's gotten a little bit of a bad rap here and there, saying it's too much kind of like transparent. I've read that recently online and I never even put those two together, which is kind of funny. But after knowing that and seeing that, I'm like, "Oh, I guess it kind of is like transparent." But I still liked the dynamic between Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda, so I highly recommend that show. I think it's just a really fun, cute, short, short show. So the episodes are really, really short. They're less than 30 minutes, so easy to get into, easy to digest, lots of fun. Stranger Things. If you haven't been watching Stranger Things, now is the time to watch them all and get caught up before the new ones come out in the fall when we're all going to be free again. It's a great show and especially if you're... I want to say that it's great for the gen X crowd because it's kind of a throwback to the nostalgic times when we were growing up as kids. But I think that young people are kind of getting into it too, because there's just a little something for everybody. We love the nostalgia and the story. Everybody else likes the nostalgia and the story as well. Stranger Things is great. So if you haven't watched that one yet, get started, get caught up. The new ones are coming out in October. Derek, I should just stop there because that show is amazing. If you don't know Ricky Gervais by now, then go check out Derek. He plays Derek and it's the most heartwarming, uplifting thing you'll watch all year. Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, I have watched the show on and off for quite a while now. I love Jerry Seinfeld and I love comedy and I love comedians. So when he gets in the car with another comedian and they just start riffing, it's just magical. Plus Jerry has a thing for cars and he always has. So this was a great platform for him to start up and I absolutely love it. So go check that one out. And Sherlock. Sherlock is on Netflix and it's a UK show, but it has Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman as Sherlock and Watson. And to me, I feel like that Sherlock is the best version of a TV Sherlock Holmes story. It's really, really amazing. I just love Benedict Cumberbatch. I think he's amazing, so it's totally worth checking out. They don't run the same way as our regular series. Each show is two episodes long, so there's only four in a season. It's weird, just watch them all and you'll get to the end of the story because they stopped making them. It's done. But totally worth watching. Oh my gosh. My husband and I fell in love with this show out of Australia called Glitch. It is on Netflix and it's about a bunch of people coming to life and coming out of the graves one night. No matter how long they've been dead, all of a sudden they've been rejuvenated and start digging their way out of their graves. Freaky, freaky, totally fun to watch and it's such a cool story. We had so much fun with this one. It's completed, it's ended. You can watch all of them on Netflix. Totally binge worthy. Oh, and Orange is the New Black. If you have not seen Orange is the New Black, it's ended as well, so if you haven't watched any of those, go watch them. Go start from the beginning and watch the whole thing. They're so good. I really love this storyline. It's a lot of fun. Go watch that one. Oh and the last one and the ones that I have watched is Monty Python's flying circus. Now, this is a really, really old series from the '70s. However, when I was in college we watched this show whenever we could on the BBC channel and it was absolutely hilarious. It's comic genius. It's classic comedy from the people who brought you all of the famous Monty Python movies like Life of Brian and The Holy Grail and of course they went on to do things like A Fish Called Wanda and so many other things. They are absolutely fantastic and hilarious. So, totally worth going back and watching those again. There's four seasons of that show in Netflix right now. So those are all the shows I've actually seen or am watching currently. The ones I have not seen yet that I really want to watch are, The Tiger King, that looks insane and absolutely right up my alley. I am a huge ID channel, forensic files, true crime, drama, documentary, murder mystery, series freak. I love that stuff and this has all of that in it and big cats. So I'm super excited to start checking that show out. The Mind of Aaron Hernandez. I was a huge fan of Aaron Hernandez and had no idea that all the crazy stuff was going on in the background with him. So I would love to watch that if... I don't even think all of them are out yet. It just started, so there's only a few episodes out right now, but it looks really, really interesting and really, really good. Russian Doll, my husband and I actually watched one or maybe two episodes of Russian Doll. That show is crazy. It's kind of like a twisted Groundhog Day, but not. This girl goes to a party, it's her birthday, everybody's doing crazy stuff, drugs, alcohol, lots of people around and she ends up dying. I know, right? And then she wakes up and all of a sudden her day has started over and she's doing the exact same things again. And this time she knows that she's going to die. So she tries to avoid it and does something else and dies anyway. So far that's all we've gotten into it. So I'm really curious to see how far this will go and what happens next. It looks really interesting. Twin peaks. Okay, so Twin Peaks was out a gazillion years ago. I know, but I didn't watch it. I don't know why I didn't watch it, but I never got into it for some reason. And then they came out with a reboot, what was that, a year or two ago? And I still didn't go back and watch the Twin Peaks series yet. So, that's on my list of things to do while at home with extra time on my hands. Yay. Oh, and The Crown, does that show not look absolutely amazing or what? I'm very curious to see all of that backstory. I mean, it just looks really awesome. The Crown is on my list. It looks good. So here's one, Tidying Up With Marie Kondo. Let me just show you something. So I actually have her book. This is Marie Kondo's book, The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up, by Marie Kondo. And she actually has this method in here that she created called the Konmarie method, which is actually her name backwards. She made a word out of her own name. So Marie Kondo has her own show now. She doesn't really speak English, so it's kind of interesting, she has a translator. I have watched one or two episodes of this and she was just helping one family. So maybe it was only just one. And it was her coming in and explaining to them what they had to do in order to tidy up. So since we have all this time and it is time for spring cleaning, I thought watching that might be a really good source of motivation and inspiration. Outlander. So my husband and I watched I think one or two episodes of this to see what it was like. So this woman is in present day. All of a sudden she goes up a mountain into a sacred place, I think for witches, I'm not really sure, and suddenly finds herself 100 years in the past. What? I don't know. It was really crazy. We don't know what happened yet, so we're just getting started in it. But everybody that has been watching it has been talking about it, and so we're highly curious and it looks like something that we could probably get into pretty easily. Oh and last one on my list is Dead to Me, and you know that's got the Christina Applegate in it and I love her. I have loved her for many years and I just love seeing her and stuff. And this show looks really, really interesting. She looks snarky and I love that. She's really pretty good at that. So I'm excited to see that. So that's kind of my rundown of shows that I am watching and I'm going to binge watch some more and new ones that I want to binge watch altogether during this time that we have. I hope that that inspires you guys to get into the Netflix and see what all is available. If you have some favorites that I did not mention, I would love for you to put those down in the comments because if it looks good, I might be watching it too. Share with me any ideas of any other shows that I didn't mention. Please, if you liked this video, give it a thumbs up. I would really appreciate that. You guys take care of yourself. Stay safe. We'll talk to you soon. I'll see you in the next video.
